How Does Your Work Enable You to Connect to and Fulfill Your Life Purpose/Passion?

One of my greatest joys is connecting with people on a heart-to-heart level. The work that I do, Holistic Health Coaching, Reiki, and Guided Meditation Sessions, allow that connection to happen naturally.

Who Is Your Ideal Client and Why?

From a Coaching aspect, my ideal client is someone who is serious about making lasting changes to their health and well-being. Whether you suffer from addiction, bouts of depression, or feel sluggish from a lack of motivation, my coaching program can help to reignite your inspiration and begin your healing process.

For my Reiki and Guided Meditations, you could be a beginner with a curious interest, or a seasoned practitioner looking to experience the peace and tranquility that results from experiencing the powerful effects of these holistic wellness modalities.

I welcome people of all ages, from teenagers to adults, who wish to experience a more harmonious and meaningful life, whether it be on a personal, professional, or business level.

What Unique Offerings Do You Provide?

I offer a unique blend of Brainwave Entrainment Technology with my holistic services for those clients who are sincere about their healing or interested in a new experience. I have provided three examples of how this technology can be utilized to aid certain conditions. Keep in mind this is not an exhaustive list, but a sampling of what can be accomplished.

(1) Coaching + Brainwave Technology: if someone is suffering from addiction related issues, I have created a coaching program that incorporates the use of brainwave technology on a daily basis for clients who are serious about releasing their addictive behavior patterns.

(2) Reiki + Brainwave Technology: if someone is having difficulty sleeping through the night or experiencing insomnia, we would use specific music that is embedded with a certain brainwave frequency during our Reiki Session to help promote a sounder sleep pattern.

(3) Meditation + Brainwave Technology: if a high school or college student needed to study for an exam, we would do a guided meditation while listening to specific brainwave entrainment music which would improve the student’s ability to concentrate and focus.

Who Was Your Role Model Growing Up? How Did That Person’s Actions Impact You?

I remember reading Autobiography of a Yogi when I was in high school and Paramahansa Yogananda was definitely a role model for me during these formative years. Yogananda was truly an enlightened being who played a major role in starting the yoga movement in the United States. He lived his life with integrity, sincerity, and honesty. He displayed an unwavering commitment to helping others heighten their own self-awareness via the path of service.

Favorite Place to Escape and Refuel?

My favorite place to recharge and relax would be a tropical beach destination. I love the beach and definitely prefer ocean water that is warm as I love to swim.

Top 3 Ways to Treat Yourself to Self-Care?

1. Meditation – I have a room in my house that is 100% dedicated to meditating. I love spending time here as there is a peaceful calmness that exudes the entire vibration of the space.

2. Massage Therapy – After getting a massage, I feel recharged, refreshed, and relaxed. It is deeply healing and a consistent part of my self-care repertoire.

3. Reiki Sessions – As a Reiki practitioner, it is important that I receive Reiki on a regular basis in order to keep my energy field at an optimal level, not only for myself but for my clients as well. In addition to these practical reasons, the Reiki energy is deeply nourishing and many times I receive intuitive insights in the form of a vivid imagery during a session.

How Do You Express Yourself Creatively?

(a) Go with the Flow – When I do a Guided Meditation or Reiki Session, I follow a general format which has served an important purpose. But most of the time that format is changed and enhanced during the Meditation or Reiki session when I receive intuitive guidance from my higher self. I love when this happens as the creativity is flowing on its own accord which makes the experience feel alive and vibrant for both myself and the participants.

(b) Creative Writing – I write a blog which I post on my website (inspireyourjourney.com) and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) on a monthly basis. Writing is definitely a creative outsource for me. I really enjoy it when I completely surrender to the process and allow the energy of the ideas to manifest within the words themselves.

Last Memorable Book You Read and Why?

“There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem” by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer. I like Wayne Dyer’s writing style and the easy way he explains potentially complicated subjects. This book is a great reminder that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. When we shift our perspective to a spiritual one, we are able to apply the wisdom that is coming from our higher self which speaks to us through gut feelings, hunches, and intuitive insights.

Favorite Movie and Why?

“GREATER” – Told he wasn’t good enough to play Division I football, Brandon Burlsworth took a risk and walked on in 1994, and he became the most respected player in the history of the program. I love this movie because it is a true story depicting how hard work, dedication, and commitment can propel you on a path that you never thought was possible. The heart felt sincerity pouring out of this movie is second to none, and this quality makes it the most memorable for me.

P. Yogananda – Possession of material riches, without inner peace, is like dying of thirst while bathing in a lake.

Accomplishment Are You Most Proud of?

Maintaining strong relationships with my family and friends is one of the most important and ongoing accomplishments of my life.

Best Lesson Learned in Life So Far?

In order to use the wisdom earned from our life experiences, it is best to live our life from a place of balance by combining the analytical qualities of the mind along with the intuitive power of our heart.

Advice to Younger Self?

You are responsible for the words you speak and the actions you take.

What Do You Love Best About Yourself (physical trait or personality characteristic) and Why?

Physical Trait – When I was in first grade, my teachers used to call me ‘smiley.’ Apparently, I liked to smile and still do ‘til this day. 😊

Personality – I am a peace maker at heart and this ability has served me well throughout the years. I try to see both sides of an issue and incorporate the bigger picture in order to gain a better understanding of the situation.

In my previous blog, Determining the Real, we talked about the importance of staying true to yourself by listening to your gut feelings and intuitive hunches. It is crucial to pay attention to these inner cues and act upon this guidance if it is going to fulfill its purpose and propel your life forward.

Luckily, I was given the golden opportunity to practice my own advice during May of 2018. As some of you know, I recently decided to rent my own office space in order to promote my business, Inspire Your Journey LLC – a company that is 100% dedicated to helping people transform their wellness goals into action.

Inspire Your Journey offers Holistic Health Coaching, Reiki Healing, and Guided Meditation Workshops for individuals, groups or corporate wellness programs looking to boost employee morale and increase productivity. I am also available for Educational Seminars and Speaking Engagements.

Listening to My Heart

I enjoyed having my own practice space but, even better, I LOVE being surrounded by a community of like-minded people. Over time, I realized that I could only obtain this type of support system by being affiliated with an organization that was firmly established in the community.

I was excited to start my new business venture, but I hadn’t considered all the moving pieces that are required to grow the business most efficiently. SheBreathes Balance & Wellness Studio

When I first stepped into the SheBreathes Balance & Wellness Studio, I was WOWED by the positive energy imbued throughout the physical space. As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted by an atmosphere of joy. As I perused the studio, I allowed myself to soak in the healing vibrations which felt wonderful.

Yes, within this space, there was something special that I couldn’t quite articulate into words, but it felt enlivened with a beautiful energy. It was almost like being transported into another world – one where I felt buoyed by the enchanting ambiance as I breathed the scent of lavender essential oil being diffused throughout the air.

And then I met Jennifer Gulbrand, the owner of SheBreathes, and it was easy to see why this place was humming with such an incredibly uplifting vibe. Jennifer is excited about her mission which is reflected in her words, mannerisms, and the dedication she shows to the SheBreathes Balance & Wellness Studio.

The SheBreathes Mission

SheBreathes Balance & Wellness Studio is a women’s community and collaborative dedicated to the education, empowerment, and advocacy for the renewal of women’s mind, body and soul. Men are welcome to join this community too, although the main focus is empowering women to reach their full potential.

In Jennifer’s words:

“SheBreathes is my way of supporting a modern evolution of the women’s movement. We hold space for women and to practice self-care and experience sisterhood and support. It’s no secret that women need strong connections with other women to feel whole. Studies suggest that powerful female friendships can have a measurable impact on overall health. The mission of SheBreathes substantiates the mission of Inspire Your Journey which is why I chose to work with Jennifer. In order to get a clear picture of where our life is headed, sometimes we need to pause and slow down. The process of being self-aware begins with knowing what we want and what holds value for us.

Looking Within

What makes your heart sing? What brings you joy? It is imperative that you know the answers to these questions so you can create the life that you desire. Otherwise you will be searching for the answers outside yourself when they can only be found within.

Your intention creates the spark that moves your life forward. This intention cannot be found in a video game, a TV show, or your iPhone. It is a part of your core being and the reason why you are here. If you get lost in the loudness of life’s distractions, you can use this meditation to gain more insight into the direction of your life.

I encourage you to give it a try.

  • Find a quiet place where you can relax and not worry about being distracted. Even if you only have 5 minutes, this is adequate.
  • Take a few deep breathes – in and out – in and out – Focus on your breathe moving freely in and out of your body.
  • As you continue to inhale and exhale, imagine the air that you are breathing is infusing your entire being with calmness. If you can’t feel the sensation of being relaxed, then state out loud: I am Calm. Keep repeating this mantra until you feel the link to your inner peace.
  • Project your intention from this state of calm power. If you are unsure of what to intend, then ask yourself: what makes my heart sing? what brings me joy? These questions can be your intention.
  • Allow the answers to manifest. You may get insights right away, or they may manifest in the future. Trust that divine timing is the right time.

A few notes about this meditation – focusing on your breathing gives your mind something to do and helps you to stay present in the moment. Intuitive insights are able to come forth much more easily when we are in a state of calmness. This is why it is important to connect with your inner tranquility.

Closing Thoughts

There will always be challenges during our life’s evolving journey, but there are solutions to overcome them. The key to navigating through the changing landscapes with ease and grace is being aware of your perspective – are you viewing these changes as obstacles to your personal growth or opportunities to heighten your development.

Obstacles can be viewed as opportunities when we use them as stepping stones towards our progress and transformation. I used my business situation as an opportunity to grow rather than allowing it to become an obstacle to my evolvement. And you can do the same!
