Healthy Upgrade.

How Does Your Work Enable You to Connect to and Fulfill Your Life Purpose/Passion?

My heart-centered mission is to empower others to heal themselves through disease management or, ideally, disease prevention.

Who Is Your Ideal Client and Why?

My ideal client is someone who needs help taking back control of their health. They may be looking for guidance on how to begin an exercise program, or assistance with building a meal plan. Maybe their body is changing (despite their best efforts) and they can’t seem to identify why, what changed, and how to make change. Perhaps they have a recent diagnosis (i.e. high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity etc) that puts them at risk for disease. All of these profiles describe who my ideal client is. They all need guidance and support (albeit in different ways) from a qualified professional such as myself who has experience and compassion specific to their diagnosis.

What Unique Offerings Do You Provide?

The love and joy I have for my profession shines brightly with every person I am fortunate enough to work with. My 23 years as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist presents a unique opportunity for me to assist others within diverse disease or health states. My compassion, enthusiasm, clinical knowledge and experience(s) work in tandem with years spent as a Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer to offer an exceptional level of expertise to a diverse group of individuals.

Who Was Your Role Model Growing Up? How Did That Person’s Actions Impact You?

I admired, and still admire my Grandmother for overcoming a great deal of trauma and becoming a successful and wealthy businesswoman later in life. I admire people who were (or are) famous for their kindness, and to this day I find myself striving to be the same. I had more than one role model, the ones I remember most clearly: Mother Teresa, Bobby Orr, Ray Bourque, Oprah.

Favorite Place to Escape and Refuel?

The spa! Or anywhere tropical with my husband.

Top 3 Ways to Treat Yourself to Self-Care?

1. Meditation.
2. Spa treatment.
3. New pair of sneakers!

How Do You Express Yourself Creatively?

I express myself creatively through cooking and recipe design. I love to create a meal or recipe that optimizes nutrition and taste. It makes me happy to see my family surprised at how healthy a meal is, because it “didn’t taste healthy…” (which is a narrative I’m working hard to reverse!).

Last Memorable Book You Read and Why?

“You are a Badass”: It was the perfect mix of humor, relatability and it really helped me see my worth.

Best Lesson Learned in Life So Far?

Even when it doesn’t seem like it, there are always spirit guides around protecting you and setting you up for something bigger and better. You have to trust and believe. The Law of Attraction is REAL.

Name of Your Business

Chapman Education, LLC and College Axis Project (501c3).

How Does Your Work Enable You to Connect to and Fulfill Your Life Purpose/Passion?

I believe I was meant to work with and support students and their families. I have had the opportunity to really do this in a one-on-one setting through Chapman Education, LLC and I am thrilled to now have the nonprofit to help students in a blended setting where students who have socioeconomic means are able to connect with and learn alongside those who may not have means and may need financial aid. The goal is to be able to serve all students regardless of their background, as I have always believed that College Counseling and personalized assistance is something all students deserve to receive.

Who Is Your Ideal Client and Why?

My ideal client is a student and family who is looking for their best possible educational match and who want to be thoughtfully guided through the process of identifying these schools and putting forth their best and empowered selves to achieve their goals.

What Unique Offerings Do You Provide?

Thoughtful 1:1 guidance regarding the process and expertise around building the strongest profile possible for each student and guiding them through a process methodically and honestly. The nonprofit offers a library of resources and a free meeting that helps the student focus on their specific process, timeline and answers any questions about the process and the profile that students may have.

When you let go of what no longer serves you, you are given the opportunity to make space for what you deserve. And mindset is everything.

Advice to Younger Self?

It’s hard, this thing called life, and you will go through many trials and tribulations but you will be stronger every time you overcome each hurdle. Keep going. Don’t give up.

What Do You Love Best About Yourself (physical trait or personality characteristic) and Why?

Connection. I love that I can talk to anyone and that I have this capacity to be able to be anyone and everyone’s cheerleader. It makes my relationships that much fuller.
